Guided excursion in Ammarnäs cultural landscape where you can listen to the story of how the Potato hill came to be. Listen to the story about the settlers’ strenuous lives for survival and how a child made a decisive discovery for the future of Ammarnäs.
What’s included: Your guide and coffee and cake at Café Vindelälvan. NOTE: Walk or drive your own car to the café after the tour. The café is about 1 km from potato hill.
Own equipment: Suitable clothes will depend on the weather, but a rain jacket and maybe a reinforcement garment can be nice. A seat pad and mosquito repellent can gild the experience.
Directions to meeting place and guide: You can see the potatoe hill when you enter the village and to go there you can start from Ammarnäs Livs (local grocery store). From there you follow Strandvägen, past Akkastjärn, and towards Samegården. There you turn left and follow the road for about 100 m to the next intersection. Turn right along Nolsivägen. From the intersection you see Potatisbacken. Down the hill there is parking area. Now you have arrived and I will be there to meet you.
